Dan Nan Xing
Dan Nan Xing (Rhizoma Arisaematis, processed with bile)
Properties: bitter, cool
Channels: Liver, Lungs, Spleen
Key Characteristics: Moistening, transforms phlegm-heat, extinguishes wind to stop convulsions, spasms and tremors.
Additional Notes: 3-6g is sufficient.
Dan Shen Certified
Dan Shen (Radix Salviae miltiorrhizae)
Properties: bitter, slightly cold
Channels: Heart, Pericardium, Liver
Key Characteristics: Invigorates the blood, also tonifies blood and stops pain while cooling and calming the spirit.
Additional Notes: The ‘Certified’ label on this herb means it has shown non-detectable levels of pesticides and heavy metals. Deng Xin Cao
Deng Xin Cao (Medulla Junci)
Properties: sweet, bland, slightly cold
Channels: Heart, Lungs, Small Intestine
Key Characteristics: Clears heat in the heart and Lungs and directs it downward, unblocks fluid pathways, leads heat downward and out through urine. Also gently unblocks flow of qi and blood and can be used for insufficient lactation.
Fu Shen (Sclerotium Pararadicis Poriae)
Properties: sweet, bland, neutral
Channels: Heart, Spleen, Lungs
Key Characteristics: More strongly calms the spirit than Fu Ling.
