    Key Characteristics: Expels wind, brightens eyes, calms ascendant Liver yang, stops itching, breaks up stagnation of qi and blood. Also dredges Liver qi and stops itching (e.g. for vaginal ‘thrush’).

  • Fu Pen Zi


    Fu Pen Zi (Fructus Rubi)
    Properties: sweet, astringent, slightly warm
    Channels: Kidneys, Liver
    Key Characteristics: Augments the true yin of the Kidneys, contains the urine, secures the essence. Also assists yang and improves the vision.

  • Man Jing Zi


    Man Jing Zi (Fructus Viticis)
    Properties: bitter, acrid, cool
    Channels: Bladder, Liver, Stomach
    Key Characteristics: Disperses exterior wind-heat. Best for headaches and eye pain, but also stops joint pain (mild effect).
