Bai Zhu (Chao) (Rhizoma Atractylodis macrocephalae)
Properties: bitter, sweet, warm
Channels: Spleen, Stomach
Key Characteristics: Tonifies Spleen qi, dries dampness, calms the fetus. Also secures the surface to stop spontaneous perspiration due to dampness causing disharmony of nutritive and protective qi.
Additional Notes: This is the dry-fried form which is better for stopping loose stool and calming the fetus. Raw Bai Zhu is more moistening within its ability to dry dampness, and enriches Spleen and Stomach yin. If raw is desired please select Bai Zhu (Raw) from the herbs list.
