Da Huang (Jiu) (Radix Et Rhizoma Rhei)
Properties: bitter, cold
Channels: Heart, Large Intestine, Liver, Stomach
Key Characteristics: Purges clumped-heat in the Intestines, cools the blood, removes blood stasis.
Additional Notes: This is the prepared form. We prepare our Da Huang with wine, soaking it and then baking it dry. This moderates the cold purgative effect and makes it more suitable for weaker patients. A good standard dose is 10g. This will be suitable for most people. If raw is desired please select Da Huang (Raw) from the herbs list. Do not use in pregnancy or during lactation.
