Wu Zhu Yu (Huang Lian Prepared)

Wu Zhu Yu (Huang Lian Prepared) (Fructus Evodiae)
Properties: acrid, bitter, hot, slightly toxic, Very Dry
Channels: Kidneys, Liver, Spleen, Stomach
Key Characteristics: Strongly warms the middle and lower Jiao, stops nausea and vomiting due to cold, alleviates cold pain in the chest and abdomen. Also good for vertex headache that involves the temples when there is vomiting of clear fluid.
Additional Notes: This is the Huang Lian prepared form. The unprocessed herb is toxic. We soak the herb in Huang Lian juice then dry-fry it, which makes it much better for pent-up Liver-Stomach fire causing acid regurgitation, nausea and vomiting. We also offer Wu Zhu Yu in its standard prepared form which involves repeatedly soaking and rinsing the herb until it is bland, then drying it. If the standard preparation is desired please select Wu Zhu Yu (Prepared) from the herbs list.
Small doses (2-5g) sufficient. Expensive.
